Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.

King Jesus left the glory above and became a baby in human flesh, born of a virgin, with a star as a nightlight and angels, animals, and shepherds singing a lullaby.

Baby feet and carpenters table

Baby Jesus bumped and bruised with scratches as he learned to walk—his hands learning to work with wood. He was tempted and showed us how to turn from it. A dove and baptism, Behold the Lamb of God!

Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.

To the blind, He gave sight; to the ones deaf, hearing, and dancing to feet that had never walked before—feeding multitudes with two fish and five loaves, giving life to the dead.

Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.

Riding a donkey to the shouts of “Hosanna!”  Glory to God in the highest. Praying for this cup to pass, then surrendering to the Father’s will. Then betrayed by a kiss, arrested in a garden, and accused of wrongs he did not commit.

Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.

Jesus led away, beaten, bruised, spit on, and mocked. Our sin was upon His shoulders to the cries of “Crucify Him.”

Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.

Jesus led through the city bleeding, carrying all the sins of man, His mother unable to recognize Him, and then was placed on a tree with nails in his hands and feet, rejected by those He fellowshipped with. God the Father turns his head.

Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.

Jesus slain by darkness, and all hope seemed lost. Quickly and gently placed in the tomb. Creation mourns.

Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us

The stone rolled away on the third day! Jesus is alive! Death’s sting is no longer a threat. Sin has been defeated!

Jesus, Emmanuel, God with us.
