Hi, and welcome to my About Me page! I’m blessed you dropped by!
My prayer and hope will be to offer encouragement as you walk with the Lord. I will share stories and words that inspire you. I will weave in some Bible study reflections and what I’m learning as I study God’s Word, and there will be some prayer stories, too. Through this blog, I want to share my life journey with you. We are all walking this life together, and we must share our stories to deepen our faith. So, welcome and enjoy the journey with me.

I married my high school sweetheart, Michael, 39 years ago! He went to active duty in the Army just after we were married and retired in 2011. We have lived in Kansas and Germany in three locations and times: New York, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. We are blessed with three adult children and their spouses.
We now live in the first home we bought in 2001, while stationed at Fort Chaffee, AR. This past summer, we moved back, and we love being home after many years of travel. Our three chihuahuas and another doggie we inherited when we moved back home live with us!
Besides Michael’s work with the Army, I worked in retail: a big hobby store, a flower shop in Germany, and a children’s clothing store. My favorite was working in sports retail for a minor-league baseball team, an NBA team, and a college team in Oklahoma. There is nothing like a game day shopping experience! But now it’s time to stay home and not worry about the craziness that happens when working retail, not to mention getting to stay in when the weather is terrible!
Well, my children think I should write a book. Something about my experiences and things I’ve learned in my over 50 years of life! I laugh and say I haven’t heard God tell me that yet, but I do have things I need to get out of my head. I thought maybe writing a blog would do that, and then perhaps I would write that book from there. It’s also something new to learn. It is easy to start a blog, but there are many things to know, like setting it up and figuring out who to write to and what to write about. Then there is the question of whether I want this to be an income source and how I do that. So, yes, there are lots of things to learn about!
I grew up in a loving home. My mom is a believer, but growing up, my dad was not. Praise God, he is now! On my mom’s side of the family, my great-grandma was deeply faithful and walked with the Lord. Her prayers were mighty, and I firmly believe they protected Michael as he went to war and through many other dangerous deployments. Both sets of grandparents walked with Jesus and followed His ways. So, while growing up, I had great teachers who taught me about God.
During a rival at my grandma’s church when I was 9, they showed a movie like The Left Behind Movie, but this one was much older. It was while watching a scene where if you didn’t get the mark, they sent you to the guillotine that I said, “Nope, don’t want that to happen to me.” I accepted the Lord that night.
But I was nine years old, and though I had excellent teachers, I never really had a relationship with Jesus until we moved to Arkansas and began attending church again.
When I turned 31, our sons participated in the Boy Scout Troop at this church, and when they had Scout Sunday in February, we went. It felt like coming home. Jesus met me in that church, among those people, and showed me His love. Our children met Jesus, too, and started their walk with Him during that time. My youngest son was saved, and he asked if I would be baptized with him. So, we were baptized together!
When we moved back to Germany and then on to Texas, I took everything I had learned from my church family in Arkansas with me and became involved in the women’s ministry in the military chapels. Now life has come full circle, we are back home with the church family in Arkansas!
I have a relationship with Jesus! And I’m still learning about Him.
